Tutorial: How to create tracks on Navionics
There are two ways which you can create track with Navionics, This tutorial explains how to create tracks on Navionics using both the build in ‘Track’ function as well as the ‘WP’ function.
Method One – The exact path of where you’ve been Sailing
Use: For when you remember to track your path.
1: Start Navionics on your iPhone/iPad/Android
2: Tap on ‘Track’
3: Go sailing with Navionics running, nav table is a good place to leave phone
4: Tap on ‘Track’ again => tap ‘Save Current Track’
5: Tap on a part of the yellow track and tap the more info box
6: Tap ‘Share’ => Make sure email is on => Tap ‘Share’
7: Email the track to yourself, save it to a folder in your documents and upload it to your trip on Saild.com
Method Two – A rough path of where you’ve been Sailing
Use: For when you’ve forgotten to save your path or didn’t have your phone.
1: Open Navionics and scroll to the area where you were sailing
2: Tap ‘WP’ => ‘New Route’
3: Using the waypoint tool create a route of where you went sailing
4: Tap ‘WP’ => ‘Save Current Route’
5: Tap on route & tap the ‘More info arrow’ & select the route from the menu
6: Tap ‘Share’ => Make sure email is on => Tap ‘Share’
7: Email the track to yourself, save it to a folder in your documents and upload it to your trip on Saild.com
BIG Tip: To retrieve an old track, tap search then Tracks/Routes and select the Track/Route you want it will then display it on screen and you can go to Step 5 above to complete.
