Round the Island Race
Get your competitive juices flowing in one the world’s greatest yacht race!
Not all of us can sail around the world like fearless 16 year-old Aussie, Jessica Watson, but we can attempt to sail around an island in the Isle of Wight in this year’s Round the Island Race. The J.P. Morgan Asset Management sponsored event is held annually in June and may just be the perfect practise run before competing in the Cowes Week; the world-renwoned, summer-time regatta held in the first week of August.
Whether you enjoy sailing for the pure serenity of being by the ocean, or you just crave to show off those competitive stripes in a race, the Round the Island Race is sure to be the highlight of the year for the seasoned competitor or the novice first-timer. Get your friends together, charter a yacht, hire a skipper, race for charity – whatever it is you want to do – but register fast as there is only 23 days to go until the sailing showdown!
